The organizers of the 25th IUHPE World Conference on Health Promotion are offering a limited number of bursaries to support the participation of professionals from low- and middle-income economies, and professionals who work for community organizations, to enable them to attend IUHPE 2025.
The applications for bursaries should be submitted at the time of abstract submission only, due to the short lead time to the conference. Please note that bursaries will be granted only to candidates whose abstracts are accepted.
Due to the limitations of the budget, a bursary is not guaranteed even if the criteria are met. We strongly recommend that all applicants also approach the relevant international development, health agencies, and/or their institution with their request for financial assistance to attend the World Conference.
The bursary applicant must meet at least one of the following primary criteria:
Applicant resides and works in a low- or middle-income country
Applicant works for a community-based organization serving populations in a disadvantaged context
1. Submit your abstract.
2. On the abstract submission portal, you will be asked if you are interested in applying for the bursary.
3. Complete all required fields and submit the necessary documents.
4. Once your abstract is selected, you will be considered for the bursary.
Please note that your abstract must be accepted before the bursary application is reviewed.
Only fully completed applications will be considered.
Bursaries will be allocated by a committee, using a consultative process. Efforts will be made to achieve geographical diversity (e.g. representation from different continents). Such selection will however be dependent on the number and quality of applications received, and the amount available for bursaries.
Applicants aged 30 or less who have health promotion leadership potential
IUHPE members (individual membership or employer’s membership)
Applicants recommended by the Global Scientific Committee. However, no more than 40 percent of scholarships will be allocated to applicants having been selected by the Global Scientific Committee for one or several sub-plenaries, symposia, or panels.
All applicants will be notified as soon as possible of the status of their application, to allow time for the obtention of travel documentation (e.g. visas). Letters of invitation can be provided to bursary recipients if needed, but applicants are responsible for obtaining any required travel visa. Information about visa requirements is available (LINK).
