Mentor Moments

Home Mentor Moments

Thank you for your interest, registration for this segment is now closed.

A Mentor Moment offers opportunities for a Mentor to share insights and reflections with an ‘apprentice’ –, an early career research, practitioner, or policy maker, on a topic related to health promotion.

We have designated several sessions with for participants to meet with Mentors, all seasoned health promotion researchers and practitioners, recognized for their original contributions to the field of health promotion.

The Global Scientific Committee invites students and early career researchers and practitioners to enrol either as a passive participant (up to 15) or as a mentee (apprentice). To enrol as a mentee, individuals must formulate a question/research problem/practice issue to be discussed with a specific Mentor. For each Mentor Moment, a maximum of 1-3 mentees will be selected based on the interest/relevance of the question/problem/issue raised.

The session will start with a short introduction by the Mentor presenting his/her work (5 minutes). This will be followed by one-on-one exchanges of 15 minutes between a mentee(s) and Mentor, based on a vetted question, and this will be repeated with the other mentee. There will be time for debate and reflection between apprentices and the Mentor. The larger audience (maximum 15 people) can be invited to participate in the last 10-15 minutes of the discussion.
