On behalf of Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, I am delighted to welcome you to the 25th edition of the International Union of Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) World Conference, which will take place for the first time in the Middle East.
Being the destination of choice for this conference reflects our commitment to excellence in health, driving the transition from healthcare to health, and significant contributions to sustainability. Together with the IUHPE, various conference committees, and our strategic stakeholders, we have developed an exciting and impactful program with the overarching theme “Settings for Planetary Health and Well-Being”.
The program, including keynote speeches from globally renowned figures, presentations highlight cutting edge research in the field of health promotion, engaging workshops, and parallel sessions, will continue global efforts to bridge the gap between research and practice.
My team and I, together with the IUHPE, invite you to join us in Abu Dhabi, 13- 16 May 2025, to exchange ideas, network, explore new business opportunities, and reconnect with old friends and make new ones, to find new solutions for global health challenges. All this while experiencing Abu Dhabi’s world-renowned hospitality and its rich culture and heritage.

As our one human family faces the convergence of related global health challenges, it is significant that for the first time, our World Conference on Health Promotion will take place in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region.
The Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre will be hosting our 25th world conference in Abu Dhabi, the Capital of the United Arab Emirates.
Considered by many as the cradle of civilisation, the region is making marked contributions to sustainable development and human well-being. It is therefore most appropriate to adopt the conference theme of “Settings for Planetary Health and Well-being.”
As co-hosts, the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) and the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC) are looking forward to welcoming health promotion and public health professionals, partners, researchers, policymakers, and all stakeholders.
